THE HARUV INSTITUTE

The Haruv Institute in Jerusalem is a recognized leader and international center of excellence in the field of child maltreatment. It is Israel’s leading authority on child abuse and neglect, and a core player in the creation of knowledge and training.

Established by the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies – Israel in 2007, The Haruv Institute mission is to create knowledge, and nurture a capable and skillful community of professionals dedicated to prevention, identification, reporting, and treatment of maltreated children.

The Haruv Institute specializes in research and data collection on the phenomenon of child abuse. This includes identifying the needs of underserviced populations, evaluating the effectiveness of existing welfare and training programs, training young researchers, and assessing public opinion.

Realizing this mission involves a three-pronged approach of research, training, and public education. The Haruv Institute believes the best results for children are achieved when insights gained from research inform professional training and the public.
