Tara R. Buck, M.D. is an associate professor of Psychiatry and Oxley Chair in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Research at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine.  She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa prior to receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Oklahoma.  Following completion of her medical training, she completed 3 years of training in general psychiatry at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine followed by 2 years of specialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah. She currently serves as the program director of the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at OU-Tulsa.

Dr. Buck’s professional interests include treatment of children and families with developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorder.  She has numerous presentations and publications in this area, including nationally and internationally.  She is the first core faculty member to expand the LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and other Related Disabilities) program to The University of Oklahoma-Tulsa. She has also worked at the state level to advocate for meaningful autism insurance reform and her expertise in this area has led to her being sought for public comment on issues related to child development.
