Secondary Trauma Activity Days using a Model Unique to DVIS Organization and CAN Emergency Center

August 26, 2019

Goal:  Reduce tension, anxiety and depression among professionals treating children at risk

Target Population:  DVIS (Domestic Violence Intervention Services), CAN Emergency Center in Tulsa, The Opportunity Project which mentors children in schools and after-school care and works with children at risk.

Number of Sessions: Total of 2: one per organization

Goal:  Teach St. Francis social workers the intervention method in the motivational interview, so that they may apply the principles in their work with families.

Goal:  Raise awareness among pediatricians in Tulsa to the phenomenon of child abuse, and provide them with skills to identify, detect and treat.

Target Population:  Tulsa Pediatricians

November 7, 2019

Goal: Provide pediatricians with skills for identification and detection of maltreated children who come for treatment.

One Day Training for the Staff of the “Tsabar” Centers – the Israeli Scout Movement in the United States

November 16, 2019

Goal: To familiarize the centers’ staff with the subject of children-at-risk and train them in active listening techniques. A further goal – to strengthen the bonds between the Haruv Institute and the Scout Movement in the USA.

Target Population: Staff at the centers of “Tsabar”, the Israeli scout movement in the US and Canada

Goal:  Impart knowledge and raise educational staff awareness to bullying, through various scenario simulations.

One Day Training for Tzofim Tsabar Counselors, Israeli Scouts Youth Movement in the US

November 17, 2019

Goal: Provide counselors with information on children at risk, on the dangers and how to identify and detect children who may be abuse victims. A further goal is to strengthen bonds between the Haruv Institute and Tzofim Tzabar US.

Target Population: Senior level (10th-12th grades), Tapuach Chapter, Manhattan

Number of Sessions:  1
